Entertaining ReadThis isn’t my normal fare in books but from time to time I enjoy a Luanne Rice book。 This story was an entertaining read with interesting characters。 I enjoyed it for a change of pace。
Kris Phillips,
Luanne Rice delivers again!I thought I had this mystery figured out early in the book, but I should’ve known better! Luanne weaves a story and mystery like no other - and this one truly is bittersweet。 I’d recommend it to anyone who loves stories about families, as well as a good mystery, because it delivers both so well! Thank you, Luanne!
betty copley,
So much twisting and turning made it greatI loved the setting, the characters were strong, the storyline was so good。 I think anyone who loves mystery stories with a dash of romance, should read this book。
Tara,
Wow! What a thriller-loved it。 Definite page turner
Deb,
Review to come!
Linda Barnett,
Great book。 Good mystery。 This had my attention until the end。 I am going to read the Last Day by the same author。 It is the book before this one。 I'm hoping it will be as good。。。 Great book。 Good mystery。 This had my attention until the end。 I am going to read the Last Day by the same author。 It is the book before this one。 I'm hoping it will be as good。。。 。。。more

Amazing tall of betrayal The twists and turns in this book are hard to predict。 What you think is going to happen, does happen but there is a twist。 Great read。
jackie,
Great readGreat story。 Kept my interest。 Good twists in the mystery。 Was a great read while on vacation at the ocean。
Karen Mamrak,
I am a huge fan of this author’s writing。 This book, however, was somewhat of a disappointment。 I didn’t connect with any of the characters and thought that the plot was difficult to wade through。 I did something I have never done before in my life — I skipped to the end just to say I knew whodunnit! Not proud of myself but I just wanted to be done with this book。
Linda ,
Found it to be predictable
carol martin,
Engaging StoryThe story of Maddie will keep you guessing to the end。 The plot will keep you engaged throughout the book。 The characters are well written and some are very likeable。
Julie,
unexpected ending!!!Great book, twists and turns through each chapter。 I liked the characters of Kate and Colin and would love to see them again。
Suprina Bracey,
This was a great book。 A lot of back stabbing going on。 Secerts untold, bad husband that's almost an EX。 Ex-husband that's up to no good。A must read :) This was a great book。 A lot of back stabbing going on。 Secerts untold, bad husband that's almost an EX。 Ex-husband that's up to no good。A must read :) 。。。more
Kathy,
The story was engaging enough to make me want to keep reading。 However, Rice's over-use of commas was distracting and ultimately the plot was just okay。 The story was engaging enough to make me want to keep reading。 However, Rice's over-use of commas was distracting and ultimately the plot was just okay。 。。。more
Melissa Shelton,
It was okay。 I did like the artistic elements of the book。 The book became better towards the end and it really threw me off on how it turned out。 I’d recommend if you’re really into mysteries。
Roxan,

Sara P,
An auto buy author for me and I was not disappointed。 Her details are so descriptive that you feel like you’re there with the characters and I thoroughly enjoyed that throughout the book。 A whodunnit that had so many twists but wasn’t confusing was also a huge plus。 I loved the relatable relationships as well!

Sharon,
Really intriguing murder mystery with lots of twists and turns。 I felt like the book cooled off towards the end when so many people were found to be involved。 Still, it was a good read。
Kate,
I am a little disappointed based on the reviews。 The plot was good, I liked the twists and turns, but there was a lot of unnecessary explanations throughout the novel。
Dianne,
Would have been a 4 except the staged performance art part of the story was just plain stupid。 Made no sense in the middle of a blizzard, no less。
Sheryl,
Blizzard takes place, murder of an artist and her daughter is kidnapped。 Just so-so book for me。
Gabrielle Sullivan,
I enjoyed this book。 It's a cozy mystery that isn't stressful or too intense。 Although some parts were slow, there were a couple twists as well。 I enjoyed this book。 It's a cozy mystery that isn't stressful or too intense。 Although some parts were slow, there were a couple twists as well。 。。。more

The real Ocean HouseI looked up the Ocean House not knowing it was real! Went through the entire place inside and outside! Gave me a look into all the scenes! Book was good。
Amanda K,
Last Night was a perfect winter read: A fierce blizzard is burying the eastern seaboard, but on the icy Rhode Island shore renowned artist Maddie Morrison finds warm sanctuary from a contentious divorce at the legendary Ocean House。 Hours later, her body is found buried under a blanket of snow and her little daughter, CeCe, has disappeared without a trace。I have been reading Luanne Rice for as long as I can remember, and she has never written a book I haven’t enjoyed。 As someone who HAS read so Last Night was a perfect winter read: A fierce blizzard is burying the eastern seaboard, but on the icy Rhode Island shore renowned artist Maddie Morrison finds warm sanctuary from a contentious divorce at the legendary Ocean House。 Hours later, her body is found buried under a blanket of snow and her little daughter, CeCe, has disappeared without a trace。I have been reading Luanne Rice for as long as I can remember, and she has never written a book I haven’t enjoyed。 As someone who HAS read so many of her books, I often find myself being able to guess what’s going to happen and some things may feel predictable or overlapping from her other stories, but between this book and her other newer book Last Day I can definitely see her branching out and brining in different struggles, characters and story lines and I am loving that journey both for her and her readers。 I really enjoyed the mystery of this read and can’t wait to continue to see what Rice does as her writing journey away from typical love stories with smaller tragedies to straight up murder。 I’m also always a sucker for her setting since she often writes about where I grew up in CT and she’s not far off with the Rhode Island setting of this book。 As I’ve gotten older and become more diverse in my reading, I still can’t give up anything Rice writes。 Her books are in my soul, so while I wouldn’t give this read a full 5 star, I confidently give it a 4 and will be recommending to my friends and reading communities。 。。。more

Good story2。75 starsI liked the start of this book but didn't seem to connect with any of the characters and the writing just wasn't my style。 It took me over two weeks to read。 It definitely picked up at the end but just wasn't for me。 An overall decent read and good mystery but it was pretty obvious who had done it from early on。 Good story2。75 starsI liked the start of this book but didn't seem to connect with any of the characters and the writing just wasn't my style。 It took me over two weeks to read。 It definitely picked up at the end but just wasn't for me。 An overall decent read and good mystery but it was pretty obvious who had done it from early on。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I was not a fan of this one。 The characters felt unrelatable。 It was a procedural but the head detective character wasn’t the one leading the investigation, which was strange。 Cecelia watching her mom die and then be kidnapped was heart wrenching for me。 The mystery of who did it was good, but then the outcome just didn’t make sense and felt unbelievable。 If you’re into art you make like it, personally that was an area of the book I couldn’t understand and bored me。 This book had tons of unneces I was not a fan of this one。 The characters felt unrelatable。 It was a procedural but the head detective character wasn’t the one leading the investigation, which was strange。 Cecelia watching her mom die and then be kidnapped was heart wrenching for me。 The mystery of who did it was good, but then the outcome just didn’t make sense and felt unbelievable。 If you’re into art you make like it, personally that was an area of the book I couldn’t understand and bored me。 This book had tons of unnecessary details to the plot of the story that made the book take longer than it should have。 。。。more
